St. Jude's News The Secaucus School District hosted a St Jude Monster Golf Day, on December 28. Everyone who attended enjoyed golfing in the spooky facility and tons of arcade games. It was the perfect outing on a cold day. Thank you all who came out to support the children of St Jude Research Hospital.
Scripps National Spelling Bee (Click here for further details) Students in grades 1 through 5 from Huber Street and Clarendon Schools are about to embark upon a shared journey full of hard work, determination and the opportunity to make memories and friendships that last a lifetime. This journey is the Scripps National Spelling Bee! Dedicated, hardworking students in grades 1 through 5 may sign up for our school spelling bee! The Scripps National Spelling Bee, is one of the nation's oldest and most iconic competitions, and last year marked nine decades! The purpose of the SCRIPPS National Spelling Bee is not only to help students improve their spelling, but also to increase their vocabularies, improve writing skills, public speaking and poise, and develop correct English usage that will help them throughout their lives.Last school year, over 300 dedicated students in grades 1 through 5 from Huber Street and Clarendon Schools in Secaucus, New Jersey have become a part of this unique experience by participating in preliminary spelling bees.
Physical Education News With winter only a few weeks away, Ms. Snarski's first grade students are preparing for the snow by participating in the Burton Riglet Snowboarding Physical Education Program. Thanks to the crew from Mountain Creek, during their December 1st physical education class Clarendon students received their first indoor snowboarding experience. Using specialized mini indoor “snowboards,” the students worked on balance, body movement, flexibility, and core strength.

The National Geographic Bee (Newsletter click here) On Friday, December 8, 2017, Clarendon School will hold the Preliminary National Geographic School Bee. Students in grades 4 and 5 will compete in this worthwhile and relevant competition. The 10-12 finalists will go on to compete in The National Geographic Bee school finals on Friday, December 15, 2017.
3rd Grade News “Mrs. Ngo’s third grade mathematicians had a blast practicing their multiplication facts during a hands-on activity of array stations. Students used clay, mini fish, cereal, and paint to represent various multiplication facts.”
St. Jude News Michael Hartung, Clarendon School kindergarten student from Mrs. Falco’s class, was the winner of the annual St. Jude Candy Corn Guess that was on Monday, October 30, 2017. Michael’s Guess was 821 and the actual number was 822. Michael won some wonderful prizes as well as the jar of candy corns.
