Do you want to build a snowman?! Mrs. Knapp’s first graders are writing "how to" stories, telling how to build snowmen. They each built their own snowman out of play dough and completed a “how to” writing piece. They wrote “first, next, last” sentences to detail their snowman building plans. ☃️❄️

Congratulations to Clarendon School’s 4th and 5th grade National Geographic Bee finalists! Our finalists competed tirelessly for an astounding fifteen rounds!

Sanay will be taking the online state qualifying test on Friday, January 25, 2019. If our School Bee Champion qualifies, he may go on to compete at The State Bee in April, 2019. The National Championship will be held in May, 2019. Wishing Sanay all the best on the state assessment!

Students in grades 1 through 5 from Huber Street and Clarendon Schools are about to embark upon a shared journey full of hard work, determination and the opportunity to make memories and friendships that last a lifetime. This journey is the Scripps National Spelling Bee! Dedicated, hardworking students in grades 1 through 5 may sign up for our school spelling bee!


The Scripps National Spelling Bee, is one of the nation's oldest and most iconic competitions, and last year marked nine decades! The purpose of the SCRIPPS National Spelling Bee is not only to help students improve their spelling, but also to increase their vocabularies, improve writing skills, public speaking and poise, and develop correct English usage that will help them throughout their lives.


Last school year, over 300 dedicated students in grades 1 through 5 from Huber Street and Clarendon Schools in Secaucus, New Jersey have become a part of this unique experience by participating in preliminary spelling bees.

The First grade learned all about How-to writing this week in class. On Friday, students were able to use the steps in their “How to Make a Snowman” writing pieces to create their very own snowmen out of play doh. They had a blast!

The Fourth graders began building Gingerbread houses. We can’t wait to see them all decorated!

No snow?... No worries! Ms. Snarski’s 1st grade students learn to snowboard during there Physical Education class with the help of the instructors from Mountain Creek.

Students in the fourth and fifth grade from Clarendon and Huber Street Schools attended the Garden State Ballet’s performance of the Nutcracker last week at the Secaucus High School Performing Arts Center. Students enjoyed the show while supporting their classmate, Vella Vergieva, who performed in the show.
