Technology News The Hour of Code was a huge success at Clarendon School. The global movement by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org reached tens of millions of students in 180+ countries through a one-hour introduction to computer science and computer programming. The children particularly loved coding with The Grinch and Dance Party this year.
Art News Many classes recently earned a “Crayon Point Reward Day” after working hard in Art class! Students were able to choose from these stations: Playdoh Sculpture, Lego Architecture, Jewelry Creation, Stickers and Stencils, Observational Drawing, and Seasonal Character Drawing. Teacher of the Year Patricia Smeyers 5th Grade Teacher at Clarendon, had the opportunity to present with fellow NJ State Teacher of the Year Finalists at the New Jersey County Teachers of the Year Round Table Session at the NJEA Convention on Friday, Nov. 9. Her presentation including steps for Teacher Wellness and each participant left with a goal of improving their teaching career and overall health.
