hello this is Julia Ariana today we have a lot of interesting news for you our top story is about how we can be mindful to protect our environment here with that story is Benjamin mind everyone importance of taking care of their precious environment and keeping our planet in habitable for future Generations we can all do our part to lead a more eco-friendly life stuff to make your land air add water pollution free with some simple changes in their daily habits in 2020, Secaucus will join many other communities in banning single-use plastic bags did you know that plastic bag you are laying in water when is there sound in remote places such as Milling tops and the oceans floors and endangered bird wildlife and marine life there are many meaningful ways to just your carbon footprint 1 ways to be a smart Shopper some products packaging include plastic and styrofoam by products with eco-friendly packaging products that use cardboard Packaging no packaging at all when buying fruits and vegetables Grand or nothing from a produce store such as the farmers market bring your own reusable cloth mesh veggie bags instead of using plastic reusable flosser woven grocery bag cut may be washed and reused over and over again cutting down the trash in our environment so what's up to all of us to do our part by making small change it so remember to recycle reuse reduce and repurpose let's all take care to be kind to our planet Earth this is Benjamin signing off Breaking Benjamin now here's Angela and Michael at their school day service that's why I visited Disney World to find out what's ride or die send the children and their teachers like the best the popular rides or attractions were polled work Space Mountain Store in Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Slinky Dog dash at Cotswold showcase Star Wars land in Aerosmith Rock and roller coaster RSO to go that's the top three most popular Disney World rides and attractions for students and their teachers in grades 3 4 and 5 third place with the 1626 votes Star Wars land in second place with 31 foods are Smith's rock and roll poster and in first place in 44 volt Space Mountain participated in a Disney World survive this is Julia eating Christmas is Michelle where's our academic enrichment teacher here with that interview or Aiden bunchman Jaden and Michael hi this is Aiden Benjamin Michael and Raven from the CMC news team we're here with our wonderful enrichment teacher mrs. worst you coordinate many and lighting and educational activities for both the students Clarendon and Huber Street School this year 2nd grade had the opportunity to take part in the Meadowlands Environmental Center for a while Food Lab what was the objective of this wonderful event the address of the first event where to learn about where food comes from how it nourishes and impacts Us and how it makes connections to shape our world what kind of activities does participating the three learning stations the first one was parts of the plant food crowns where students were surprised to find out that they do eat roots stems leaves flowers and seeds they were had the Opera Unity to pick their own root stem Leaf flower and seeds to decorate their food crown and the second station it was entitled to sense of smell in this station the students were interred is to the six major groups floral fruity spicy resin burnt and rotten in this station students were able to work on their own Kool-Aid flavored in the third station the young chefs and creators who made their own salad with fresh herbs and plants students prepare to simple bird's nest salad and a vinaigrette dressing for evil to eat their own creation what was their favorite Learning Station and what have you learned about how food stamps all over the students after working on a reflection paper we found that the students like the sense of smell station the best we had 30 students that voted for that 124 students voted for the young Chef station where they made their own salad and there contrasting and 11 students voted for the plant food crowns and here is some of the work that the students some of the reflection where this student wrote that they never knew that we can eat seats another student reflected and wrote that they never knew that broccoli was a flower and that children could look and actually cut with knives text you let the Mobile Food Lab bringing awareness to our students and appreciating plants stewardship and the environment thank you for bringing this great multi-sensory activity to our kids will you be planning another visit by the mobile from the lab for next year to work with the Meadowlands and plan a visit for next year as well thank you for taking the time to talk with us today and for all of your dedication to the students in elementary schools will thank you.
