2nd Grade News Ms. Hensle’s class participated in a S.TE.A.M. Activity about “ Why our Skeletons have so many bones”? The children drew a model of their hand, located all the bones in their hands by observing hand movements, marked their models with the bones, then filled the bones in with oil to make their own X-Rays!
Science News The Clarendon School 4th graders participated in a squid dissection. This hands-on opportunity allowedthe students to identify internal and external structures and their functions. This was an interesting andexciting way to learn this area of the curriculum.
St. Jude's News Jersey Mike's Fundraiser for St Jude on Tuesday, October 29. 20% of all the proceeds will go to St. Jude.
Week of Respect Omega-Man & Friends visit CLarendon School!!Omega-Man & Friends school presentation has been a valuable tool in the hands of principals and school administrators across the nation! Those principals and administrators have commented that the content and presentation of our assemblies has been life changing for their students and faculty! They have seen students, including those “at risk”, plucked off the road to failure and planted onto a road of success. We desire to offer this unique tool for your use.After holding hundreds of school assemblies and talking to countless principals and administrators a common need surfaced. There is a need to bring a message of hope to our children in these extreme times. Today, our children are faced with a wide-range of distractions and pitfalls in achieving their destiny. The assemblies provide students with the means to prevent them from becoming a statistic while reinforcing the positive growth areas that include scholarship and character building emphasized by your school staff.
2nd Grade News The students in Ms. Hensle’s class participated in a team building S.T.E.M. Activity to end the Week of Kindness. The students could only use 2 pieces of construction paper, glue, and scissors to make the longest paper chain while working as a team.
Mobile Food Lab On Thursday, October 3, 2019, The Meadowlands Environment Center’s Mobile Food Lab visited the campus of Clarendon School. The Mobile Food Lab is a fun, multi-sensory educational experience on wheels. Activities were led by professional educators in science, art, and culinary arts, to teach children where food comes from, how it nourishes and impacts us, and how it shapes our world.Our second grade students had the opportunity to work on enriching STEAM activities during the visit.
